Hours before the Lok Sabha election 2019 schedule was announced, members of the religious fraternity in Haridwar expressed hope in Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again. At a meet held to pay homage to Swami Hansdevacharya, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev open heartedly appreciated the working of PM Modi. He opined that there was no alternative to Narendra Modi for India to excel. Considering developed nations like Japan, America and China only Modi can give the working model and network needed to progress India, he averred.
Appreciating the present Modi Government, Ramdev said, “India had no character and policy maker as strong as Modi in the politics of India. He raised the stature of India in the international fraternity. Modi has contributed a lot towards reducing the problem of naxalism, terrorism, inflation, poverty and unemployment in the country and for this he has launched over hundred welfare schemes in the country.”
Just as earlier during the 2014 parliamentary polls Ramdev had himself taken the task of eliciting support for Modi to win over Congress, on Sunday for the first time for this election, he spoke outrightly in favour of BJP state the observers. Tll now he was claiming himself as neutral- not for or against any political party.
Swami Hari Chetanananda of Bada Udasin Akhada also appreciated Modi Government’s various initiatives in bringing India in the lime light in the world and he said he hoped that BJP Government would work in tandem with the religious fraternity as they had been doing till now.
Earlier, speaking as the chief guest, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the demise of Hansdevacharya was an irreparable loss to the nation. He said the seer had taken up the issue of Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya with all his might in the recent Dharma Sansad organised in the Kumbh Mela and the campaign had gained momentum due to his efforts.
It was a big loss for such a leading saint to die unexpectedly in an accident. The Chief Minister also announced that the connecting road from Bhim Goda to the national highway along with the Ganga Ghat would be named after Hansdevacharya.
Apart from various BJP leaders Congress leaders like Satpal Brahmachari were also present to pay homage to Hansdevacharya. Swami Avadheshanand of Juna Akhada, Swami Satyamritanand of Bharat Mata Mandir and other prominent members of the religious fraternity were also present on the occasion.
It will be recalled that Swami Hansdevacharya had died in an accident in the recent past while on his way back from the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela.
