BJP star campaigners to address public in series of programmes this week
Among the star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Union Home minister Rajnath Singh will arrive in Uttarakhand today to address public rallies in various locations. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi too is slated to arrive in Dehradun later this week. The BJP state vice president Jyoti Prasad Gairola informed the media about the scheduled visits of the party’s star campaigners in Uttarakhand.
Gairola said that national leaders of the BJP will campaign in all the five Lok Sabha constituencies of the state in the coming days. On Monday, the Union Home minister Rajnath Singh will arrive in the State and address public gatherings at Pithoragarh, Gopeshwar, Kotdwar and Jhabreda. Later on April 3, the BJP national president Amit Shah will address a public gathering in Uttarkashi. On the same day, national leader of the party Shahnawaz Hussain will address public gatherings at Sahaspur, Bhagwanpur and Dharmpur. A day later, on April 4, the chief minister of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath will address public gatherings at Kashipur and Roorkee. Gairola further informed that on April 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public gathering on the Parade Ground in Dehradun. Other star campaigners of the BJP, Union ministers Uma Bharti and Smriti Irani will also address public gatherings in the state.
The BJP state vice president said that about 210 public gatherings will be organised in the 70 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the state. The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has so far addressed 32 public gatherings across the state, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that so far the BJP appears to have maintained a lead over the Congress when it comes to star campaigners. The prime minister recently addressed a public gathering in Rudrapur while the chief minister and other senior party leaders have also been campaigning across the state.
