If you are planning to purchase land in U’khand then get prepared to shell out more money as the State Government has effected an hike in circle rates of both non agricultural and agricultural land. The decision to increase circle rates in the State was taken in the meeting of State cabinet on Friday.
The increased rates would be applicable immediately after release of Government Order (GO). Informing about the Cabinet decision, the Cabinet Minister and Government spokesman Madan Kaushik said that the decision was taken after due deliberation which includes report from the DMs.
As per the new rates non agricultural land in provisional State capital Dehradun would increase from two to 111 percent. Circle rates in Charba area of Selaqui in Dehradun have been hiked; here the rate would now be Rs 4000 per sq meter from the earlier Rs 1300, an increase of 111%. An increase of 9 to 62 percent has been affected in circle rates of agriculture land in Dehradun. Maximum increase of 62% has occurred in Bansiwala where the rate would now be Rs 2.76 Crore per hectare. Apart from Dehradun the purchase of land in other parts of the State would also become costly.

In Haridwar the circle rates have been increased by one to 233% for non agricultural land while the agriculture land has been hiked by two to 400 %. The maximum hike of 400% has been done for stretch of NHs near Patanjali Yog Peeth in Haridwar.
Kaushik said that revision of circle rates in a routine exercise and is done after report of the respective district administration.
He said that circle rates in many areas have not been changed while in some areas they have been reduced too. Apart from increasing the land prices the increase in circle rates is expected to augment Govt revenue.
