Online registration mandatory to get ration from fair price shops: DSO
In order to get the ration regularly from the fair price shops in Dehradun district, it is mandatory for beneficiaries to get their ration card registered online with the required documents. Stating this the Dehradun district supply officer (DSO), Jaswant Kandari added that ration will not be distributed without online registration of ration cards. Several people have been complaining for the last few days that they are unable to get ration from the fair price shops in their areas as their ration cards are not visible online to the ration distributors. Talking about this, Kandari said that the online registration of ration cards ensures the authenticated distribution of ration among the legitimate beneficiaries. Therefore, it is compulsory for every beneficiary to get their ration card registered and updated online so that it is accessible to the distributors.
“The beneficiary only needs to fill out an application form and provide an Aadhaar card copy along with it. The forms can be submitted in the respective fair price shops or in the district supply office,” said Kandari. He informed that a drop box is installed in the district supply office for the submission of such forms so that applicants do not come in direct contact with the employees to prevent Covid-19 contagion. He advised the beneficiaries to deposit the application in the respective fair price shops for the ease of the locals.
Moreover, Kandari also informed that about 150 beneficiaries have voluntarily surrendered the white ration cards so far to the district administration. It is pertinent to mention here that many people have complained that several stable earners in the district are in possession of those ration cards which are meant to provide subsidised monthly ration to low income families. The administration had asked such beneficiaries to surrender such ration cards so that needy families can get ration at affordable prices.
