No respite from rising temperatures for next two days, warning issued

Maximum temperatures in many districts to be up to 8 °C above normal
The higher reaches of two districts may experience some rain and snowfall on Sunday while dry weather is likely to prevail in the rest of the State. However, there seems to be no immediate respite from rising temperature as the State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of the maximum temperatures remaining five to seven degrees Celsius above normal in eight districts during the next couple of days. The centre has also issued an alert regarding the possibility of the maximum temperatures remaining six to eight degrees above normal in five districts during the next couple of days.
On Saturday, the meteorological centre forecast that the maximum temperature is likely to remain five to seven degrees Celsius above normal in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Almora, Nainital, Champawat, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts during the next one to two days. The meteorological centre also issued an alert regarding the possibility of the maximum temperature likely to reach six to eight degrees Celsius above normal in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts during the next one to two days.
Apart from this, the centre has also forecast the possibility of very light to light rain/snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in the higher reaches of Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts on Sunday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 29 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 28.2 degrees Celsius and 11.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.2 degrees Celsius and 9.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.5 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.4 degrees Celsius and 9.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
