Nepalis opposing their government’s differences with India: CM
Nepal is India’s friendly nation and people of the two nations share familial and cultural relations. The two nations have been trusting each other though recently some differences have emerged from their side. However, the people of Nepal have been opposing their government on these issues, said chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while addressing a virtual rally in Pithoragarh assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Pithoragarh district shares borders with China and Nepal. Considering the strategic importance of this district, the special efforts of the state government have succeeded in speeding up construction of the Lipulekh road to the China border. Rawat said that China is worried due to construction of roads to Lipulekh and the border in Ladakh along with expansion of airfields in border areas. “China is also anxious for the marketing of its products after our Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke of Atmanirbhar Bharat and going vocal for local. China is also earning a bad name in the world due to Covid-19, which is why it is indulging in questionable acts along the border. Our soldiers exemplified valour and bravery in the manner in which they faced Chinese soldiers at Galwan. This is why China is now ready to return to the past positions and maintain the earlier status at the line of control,” said the CM. He also mentioned the various efforts undertaken by the Modi government and the State government to ensure the welfare of people during the situation resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. He also appreciated the party workers for assisting in provision of aid to the needy during difficult circumstances. Referring to measures being taken in the state against Covid-19 he said that 1,600 tests are being conducted daily while the recovery rate is about 64 per cent. Within one week, the state will develop capacity for conducting 2,000 tests daily which will also resolve the waiting list. The government is attempting to ensure that the test result is made available on the same day, he added.
