The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has reiterated on the demand for death sentence to those accused of raping an 8-year old girl who was kidnapped and gang raped in Mandsaur, MP. He has said that the decision must be made through fast track court during interaction with the media persons at Patanjali Yog Peeth here on Sunday.
Ahead of State Assembly polls in 2018 in MP, the CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan sought blessings of eminent members of the religious fraternity in Haridwar.
Speaking to The Pioneer, the MP CM said that the accused had no religion and must be punished as per the order of the court of law. He must be hanged till death, said the Chief Minister. Yoga guru Swami Ramdev also said that the rapist must be hanged. He also demanded ban on advertisements and serials which showed women as tools of entertainment exposing their bodies, spoiling the atmosphere and traditional ethics.
Appreciating the Yoga guru Swami Ramdev’s expansion of food processing business across the country, Chouhan said that he came to discuss how the crop produce in MP could be utilised for the benefit of the farmers in the country.
He said, “MP contributes about 18 per cent of India’s total agriculture and had bumper crop of onions. Ways will be sought to process the crop produced so that nothing goes waste.”
Yoga guru Ramdev said, “Our aim would be to utilise the produce of the farmer directly from the farm and give him maximum profit without the involvement of the middlemen. He also opined that the MP CM himself was a yogi.
Chouhan said that he himself practiced yoga which helped him work 18 hours a day without tiring. He lauded the efforts of Patnjali Yog Peeth in promoting Swadeshi goods and making them available within reach of every person in the country.
He said, earlier products of MNCs had flooded the market and the foreign companies were reaping the benefits but now India is progressing with Swadeshi movement giving benefits to the local people.
Earlier, the MP CM went to perform Rudrabhisek at Shivalinga in Harihar ashram of Swami Avadheshanand Giri.
He is staying in his ashram for two days. The chief minister also went to Swami Satyamitranand Giri of Bharat Mata Mandir and Swami Parmanand of Akhand Paramdham.
