Minimum income guarantee scheme master stoke by RaGa: Dinesh
Former state cabinet minister and senior Congress leader, Dinesh Agarwal has hailed the minimum income guarantee scheme as proposed by the Congress president Rahul Gandhi while claiming that the scheme would be beneficial for the poor of the country.
Addressing the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan on Tuesday, Agarwal said that the Congress government when voted back to power at the Centre would implement the income guarantee scheme on the lines of the MNREGS. Terming the Narendra Modi-helmed NDA government as a complete failure, he said that the promise of providing two crore employments every year has proved to be a farce. He said that the Modi government has done nothing for the people and not fulfilled any of the promises he had dished out to woo them in the run-up to the 2014 general election.
Agarwal also launched a scathing attack on Modi for making false promises of depositing Rs 15 lakh into the bank account of everyone and also the promise of loan waiver. He said that the Congress governments have waived off the loans of the farmers in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as promised by it.
The Congress leader termed the demonetization and implementation of the GST as moves detrimental for the economy of the country.
He said that more than 1.10 crore persons had lost jobs in the aftermath of demonetisation. Agarwal also attacked the government for doing nothing to control the spike in the prices of essential commodities.
He claimed that the previous UPA government had waived off loans to the tune of Rs 70,000 crore to provide relief to the people.
The Congress leader further said that the sting operation released by the CEO of a news channel in which brother and nephew of the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat are shown has exposed the flippancy of the zero tolerance posturing on corruption by the state government.
Agarwal said that the state government is threatening the employees and assured full support of Congress for the cause of the employees. He claimed that the Congress would sweep the Lok Sabha elections and win all the five parliamentary seats up for grab in Uttarakhand.
The state party vice- president Surya Kant Dhasmana, former MLA Rajkumar and others were also present on the occasion.
