MCD to seal shops for encroachment after three warnings from October end

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will seal shops in the marketplaces if the owners will not remove their encroachments after the three warnings issued by the corporation. Informing about it, the Dehradun municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that there are several shopkeepers in the marketplaces like Paltan Bazaar and Rajpur Road who have extended their establishments on public space, causing nuisance to the public. He said that the corporation will initially give shopkeepers three warnings to remove their encroachments on their own within a given time and if even after that they do not comply, MCD will seal their shops. On the question of when the corporation will begin the process of removing encroachments from market places, Pandey said that it will likely begin by the end of October but the purpose of announcing this plan at this time is to give shopkeepers sufficient time to clear their encroachments from the marketplaces in the city.
