MCD closed to public after senior official tests Covid positive
After a senior official of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday morning, the corporation restricted the entry of public in the corporation for two days. According to the municipal commissioner, Vinay Shankar Pandey, the whole campus of the corporation was sanitised on Tuesday as soon as he received the information about an official being tested positive for Covid-19. He said that four people who were in the close proximity of the infected official in the last few days have been directed to go under home quarantine. As per the guidelines, the suspected Covid patients will be kept under home quarantine for four days and afterwards they will be tested for the Covid-19 contagion as per their condition, added Pandey. He further added that the entry of the public will remain closed on Wednesday too to minimise the risk of Covid-19 contagion among the people of the city. It is pertinent to mention here that it is the second case of Covid-19 in the MCD within two weeks as the first case was found on August 5.
