Major focus on mountain states for the first time under PM Modi: Singh
Considerable focus has been laid on mountain states for the first time under the prime ministership of Narendra Modi. The Union minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh said this while speaking at the virtual rally held for the Doiwala assembly constituency on Saturday.
Expressing his views, Singh said that under Modi’s leadership, the Covid-19 pandemic has been brought under control considerably. In Uttarakhand too, the state government under chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has done good work. Coordinated efforts involving the government, administration and civil society have yielded good results here, he said. Singh said, “About 1,500 Covid tests are being conducted daily in Uttarakhand with no gaps in preparations. While there were ICUs in only three districts in 2017, every district has an ICU now. Relief is being provided to the poor and the farmers,” he said.
He said that about 2.34 lakh natives were brought back from other states and ration has also been arranged for them. Those who do not have national food security scheme card of any state will be provided benefit under the one nation-one card scheme. Those who have no card will also be provided five kilogramme rice and one kilogramme pulses per unit under the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme, said Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Trivendra Singh Rawat appreciated the BJP workers for fulfilling their responsibility towards members of the society. The party workers always came forward to help the needy during the lockdown enforced to check the spread of Covid-19. He said that the BJP State government is undertaking developmental work in the state. The promises made in the party’s election vision document are being fulfilled with about 85 per cent announcements being executed in a little more than three years of the state government’s term so far. Respecting public sentiment, the state government declared Gairsain the state’s summer capital and the notification for this has also been issued. Rawat further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is facing difficult situations with a sense of self respect. Various office bearers of the BJP were also among those who attended the virtual rally.
