Light rain, snow likely in some districts of Uttarakhand
While dry climate is likely to prevail in most parts of Uttarakhand, it might rain and snow albeit lightly at some places in a few districts on Tuesday, says the Regional Meteorological Centre. As per the forecast issued by the weather department on Monday, it might rain in some districts, including Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi, on Tuesday while it might snow at high-altitude places across these districts with a height of 300O meters and above.
The rest of the State would have a dry climate on the day, the weather forecast added. The weather officers further said that in case it would rain and snow as per the forecast the mercury might come down in these districts as well as some other parts of the State. Presently, the mercury is running on the higher side with both the maximum and the minimum settling at above the normal at most of the places.
In Dehradun, the sky was generally clear though it turned cloudy for some time on Monday. The Met department said that the climate is likely to remain dry here on Tuesday too though the sky would be overcast for some parts of the day. Besides, mist/haze might form in the morning hours.
The mercury in the city is likely to remain the same on Tuesday with the minimum settling in the neighborhood of 11 degree Celsius and the maximum hovering around 27 degree Celsius.
In Dehradun, the minimum temperature settled at 10.6 degree Celsius, one notch above the normal, while the maximum hovered around 27.6 degree Celsius, four notches above the normal, on Monday.
The minimum temperature recorded at Mukteshwar was 7.7 degree Celsius, three notches above the normal, while the maximum temperature settled at 19.2 degrees Celsius-three notches above the normal.
The minimum was 8 degree Celsius and the maximum was 18.9 degree Celsius at New Tehri and they were 8.8 degree Celsius, one notch above the normal, and 27.7 degree Celsius, two notches above the normal, at Pantnagar. read more posts…
