Light rain forecast for Dehradun,Western disturbance active in U’khand
After a long dry spell, Dehradun might have light rain on Wednesday as per forecast issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre. It might rain in the hill areas of several districts like Uttarkashi, Tehri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Dehradun on the day. The sky would remain cloudy and there is a possibility of thundershower lashing isolated places across these districts, says the weather forecast. The maximum temperature is likely to dip further in Dehradun. As per the weather forecast, it might settle below 24 degree Celsius. The minimum would hover in the neighborhood of 11 degree Celsius on the day. In Dehradun, the minimum temperature settled at 11.3 degree Celsius, three notches above the normal, while the maximum hovered around 24.9 degree Celsius, two notches above the normal, on Tuesday.
The sky was mostly cloudy in the city on Tuesday, though it cleared occasionally. However, there was no report of rain here on the day.
The Met officers said that the western disturbance currently active in some parts of the State is responsible for the change in the climate. They said that in case it rains as has been forecast the mercury might come down, particularly the maximum temperature, which might bring about the winter chill.
However, till now the mercury is running on the higher side with both the maximum and the minimum settling at above the normal at most of the places.
The minimum temperature recorded at Mukteshwar was 7.6 degree Celsius, three notches above the normal, while the maximum temperature settled at 17.7 degree Celsius-two notches above the normal. The minimum was 8.8 degree Celsius at New Tehri and the maximum was 17.1 degree Celsius and they were 10.8 degree Celsius and 27.7 degree Celsius at Pantnagar, both three notches above the normal. read more posts…
