LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN LIKELY TO OCCUR AT MANY PLACES

Light to moderate rain/snow is likely to occur at many places in Uttarakhand on February 24. On Wednesday, while it might rain and snow at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts the climate would remain dry in the rest of Uttarakhand. The Met officials said that a fresh western disturbance is approaching the Western Himalayan region as an impact of which the state would experience a wet spell from February 23.
Uttarakhand Meteorological centre director Bikram Singh said that the highest maximum temperature of the state 28.1°C was recorded at Jaspur while the lowest minimum temperature 3.2°C was recorded at Matela. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Wednesday is mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 26 degree Celsius and 10 degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun on the day.
As per the release issued by the Met department, on Tuesday, the maximum temperature and minimum temperatures were recorded at 26.0 degree Celsius, three notches above the normal, and 10.5 degree Celsius, two notches above the normal, respectively in Dehradun. In Pantnagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 26.0 degree Celsius, one notch above the normal, and 6.8 degree Celsius, one notch below the normal, respectively.
In Mukteshwar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 18.2 degree Celsius, four notches above the normal, and 5.6 degree Celsius, three notches above the normal. In Tehri, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 17.6 degree Celsius and 7.4 degree Celsius respectively.
