‘Honest and popular leader Koshyari’s pain understandable on being denied ticket by BJP’
Adding spice to the ongoing hilarious war of words between two stalwarts of state politics, Harish Rawat and Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the Congress state in- charge, Anugrah Narayan Singh has stated that the BJP’s veteran leader is actually helping Harish Rawat by targeting him consistently. Singh was reacting to a question posed on the ongoing war of words between the two leaders at state party office on Thursday. He said that both Harish Rawat and Koshyari are seasoned leaders and old friends and it appears as if Koshyari is true friend. Terming Koshyari as one of the few BJP leaders who are honest and popular, Singh said that his pain can be understood as the BJP has denied ticket to him this time. ‘They did it to Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, B C Khanduri and Koshyari’’ he quipped. Making light of the comments emanating from Harish Rawat and Koshyari, Singh said that since Uttarakhand is a land of forests and mountains, the comparisons with animals is obvious. In latest attack on Harish Rawat, Bhagat Singh Koshyari had said that Harish Rawat, the lone monkey who would be caged in the ‘Bandarbada’ (monkey shelter) after the elections.
The war of words between two veterans started when Koshyari termed Harish Rawat as Harada (Loser) in apparent reminder to Rawat about the defeats he received during assembly elections of 2017 from both the seats he contested. Not to be left behind Rawat returned the favour by referring Koshyari as an ‘ Ujyadu Buld’ which in local dialect means a Bull who has the habit of entering farms and destroying crops of farmers. On it Koshyari retorted by terming Harish Rawat as ‘ Yakulu Banar’ which means a lone monkey. Reacting to the lone monkey barb, Harish Rawat compared himself with Hanuman who would burn the ‘Lanka’ of BJP in the state and termed Koshyari as a ‘ Bhega Ghughuta’ – the dove which has become damp and hence lost the ability to fly.
