Manish Khanduri has been appointed as the member of the National Executive Committee of the social media department of Congress party. The Congress President Sonia Gandhi has endorsed the appointment of Khanduri. The information was provided by the General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) K C Venugopal on Friday.
Expressing happiness at the development, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh congratulated Khanduri on the new assignment. He said that the party would benefit from his experience and the organisation would get further strengthened. Singh said that in today’s age the social media wing of any organisation is of special significance and appointment of Khanduri in the national social media committee of the Congress party would be beneficial for the party in Uttarakhand also.
Manish Khanduri is the son of former chief minister of Uttarakhand and former union minister Major Gen B C Khanduri ( Retd). He joined the Congress party ahead of Lok Sabha polls last year and contested unsuccessfully from Garhwal Lok Sabha seat. He left a lucrative career in the corporate world to take a plunge in politics. In a statement Khanduri thanked the Congress president Sonia Gandhi for showing faith in him.
