Joint exercise of Indian and Kazakhstan troops held in Pithoragarh
Named, KAZIND-2019, the exercise started on October 3 and would culminate on October 15
The fourth Indo -Kazakhstan joint military exercise is being conducted at Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. The exercise that commenced on Thursday would culminate on October 15. Termed KAZIND- 2019, the fourth joint exercise between India and Kazakhstan aims to train troops of both countries in counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations in both the forest and mountainous terrains. A communiqué from the Indian Army said, ““Exercise KAZIND-2019 will further rejuvenate the long standing strategic ties between India and Kazakhstan. As part of the exercise, important lectures, demonstrations and drills related to counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations will be conducted. Both the Armies will also share their valuable experiences in countering such situations as also refine drills and procedures for joint operations wherever the need arises.’’
The joint exercise would culminate with the 72 hours joint exercise which will showcase the skills of soldiers in conducting joint counter terrorist operations.
On the second day of the exercise on Friday, demonstration on battle obstacle course and slithering from static platform was conducted in which soldiers of both the armies practiced and rehearsed varied techniques of crossing the obstacles and carrying out the Heliborne operations.
