Investigation pending in alleged mishebaviour by two CPU officers
Former president of Mandi Parishad, Ravinder Singh Anand submitted a memorandum to Superintendent of Police (city) Shweta Choubey on Tuesday, stating that two officers of City Patrol Unit (CPU) on Monday wrongfully tried to issue Challan and tow his car without valid grounds.
He alleged that CPU officers then misbehaved with him.
Superintendent of Police (traffic) Prakash Chandra Arya said, “Circle Officer traffic is investigating the case. The CPU team has their video recording as evidence.
If anyone present at the scene or the complainant has any visual evidence they can submit it to CO traffic- it will be included in the investigation.”
Complainant Anand said, “While going from Bannu School Chowk to Nehru Colony I got a phone call, for receiving which I parked my car on the roadside.
While I was talking on the phone, two CPU officers Shailendra Singh Negi and Bishamber Dutt stating that I broke traffic rule tried to issue challan.
When I argued they threatened that they will seize my car. After that Shailendra Singh Negi forcefully tried to take my car keys.
While attempting to do so they tore my kurta, broke my expensive watch and my hand was hurt which started bleeding.”
He further added, “If they can misbehave this way with a former president of Mandi Parishad, then they must be getting away with number of misbehaviour incidents with common people.
I have submitted a memo to SP City and CO Traffic. Investigation in the case is pending.”
