Injured tiger found dead in Corbett
A tiger filmed in an injured state by a tourist on Sunday in Bijrani zone of Corbett tiger reserve has been found dead. The officials state that the tiger died as a result of injuries sustained in a fight with another tiger. They are also looking for the other tiger involved in the fight.
On Sunday, a tourist had spotted an injured tiger and filmed it. As the video went viral on the social media, the Corbett officials began a search for the injured tiger. The body of the tiger was found on Sunday. The Corbett deputy director Chandrashekhar Joshi and other officials reached the site. Joshi informed that the tiger was a male aged between eight to 10 years. Considering the deep wounds on the face, neck and back of the tiger, it is believed that he died as a result of a territorial fight with another tiger. The body of the tiger was destroyed after post mortem examination.
