Bus flips over in Haldwani
Haldwani: A roadways bus flipped over on its side at Bhakda bridge in Haldwani after the driver reportedly lost control. While two of the passengers sustained critical injury the remaining 18 sustained minor injuries. The bus was going from Chandigarh to Haldwani. According to sources this is another suspected case of the driver being tired and nodding off while driving. According to the Kaladhungi police station in-charge two of the passengers are in critical condition.
False gunshot alarm in Patel Nagar
Dehradun: On the rumours of alleged dispute between two parties in the Mandi area under Patelnagar police station, the police team sent to inquire concluded that reports of a gunshot heard late night on Tuesday seem to false as no gun residue was found there. SHO SB Negi said, “We went there to verify the rumour and found that two parties had some dispute but there was no shooting. We are investigating the two sides and the cause of the dispute.”
LIC MD inaugurates branch in Haridwar
Dehradun: The managing director of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India, TC Suseel Kumar inaugurated the Haridwar II branch of the LIC on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion he said that the new office would provide the policy holders of nearby areas an easy access, quick and quality service.
The top performing development officers, CLAs and agents were felicitated by the MD on the occasion. The MD was accompanied by executive director, engineering of LIC, DK Banerjee, zonal manager NP Sinha and others.
