The speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Premchand Agarwal held a meeting with the secretary estates, R K Sudhanshu and state estates officer, Dipendra Chaudhary at his office in Vidhan Sabha on Monday and directed them to improve facilities in the MLA hostel. In the meeting with the officials, the speaker directed that CCTV cameras should be installed in the entire campus of the hostel. He said that security should be spruced up in the MLA hostel. Agarwal suggested that registrations of the visitors coming to the MLA hostel should be done at the entrance of the campus so that a record of people coming to the MLA hostel is maintained.  Expressing concern on the sanitation condition of the MLA hostel campus, the Speaker said that in view of the prevailing pandemic of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), special focus should be on maintaining sanitation. He directed that all the visitors in the campus should be allowed after thermal screening and after sanitising them properly so that the disease is kept at bay. The speaker said that security of MLAs and their families is of paramount importance. The secretary R K Sudhanshu assured the speaker that all his directions would be followed.
