II phase of Mission Indradhanush to start on Dec’ 2
In Uttarakhand a total of 267,794 children in 10 districts (barring Dehradun, Nainital and Bageshwar) would vaccinated during the campaign.
The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Harshvardhan has said that no child in the country should fell ill from the diseases which can be eradicated by the vaccines. He was addressing a video conferencing session in which Health Ministers, health secretaries, mission directors and director general health services of 29 States on Thursday. He said that the Mission—Indradhanush II should be successfully implemented in the selected districts. A total of 272 districts of the country are selected for second phase of the mission Indradhanush in which left over children and pregnant women would be vaccinated. In Uttarakhand a total of 267,794 children in 10 districts (barring Dehradun, Nainital and Bageshwar) would vaccinated during the campaign. The four month long project would commence on December 2.
In the video conferencing session, the Union Health Minister said that the left out children and expectant mothers should get the message that the Government is sensitive enough for them.
He said that the participation of local MPs and MLAs should also be ensured for success of the programme. In the video conferencing session, secretary in charge health services, Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Mission Director NHM, Yugal Kishore Pant, Director General (DG) health services, Dr Amita Upreti and other senior officers of health department participated.
