IAF DELIGATE MEETS CM, DISCUSSES LAND ALLOTMENT FOR ITS UNIT

A delegation of Indian Air Force (IAF) officers led by Commanding in Chief of Western Air Command Air Marshall C Hari Kumar met the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat at State secretariat on Wednesday.
In the meeting the issue of allotment of land for setting up new units of IAF came up for discussion. Informing about the strategic importance of the proposed units, the Air Marshall said that land for them is needed by the force in the mountainous area.
The IAF delegation also thanked the Uttarakhand Government for cooperation provided by it in the IAF exercises held in the past. CM Rawat welcomed the delegation of IAF and reiterated the commitment of his Government for every aspect related with the national security.
He assured that the Uttarakhand Government would give a serious consideration for all the proposals of the IAF. On many proposals, the CM even gave his in principle approval and proposed that a meeting between the officers of Uttarakhand Government and IAF should be organised on the issue.
The meeting of the IAF officers and Uttarakhand CM assumes significance in the wake of increased activity on Indo China border directed to counter a hostile China. Uttarakhand shares international boundary with China.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary Ranvir Singh, Additional Cheif secretary Om Prakash, secretary revenue Harbans Singh Chug, Secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki and Distirct Magistrate of Dehradun S A Murugeshan.
