Human species in the course of evolution has attained the status of a universal being. Human engagement in universal dialogue, therefore, becomes an indispensable phenomenon of human life. Universal dialogue, in essence, is complementary with other universal human phenomena. In the absence of a universal dialogue, the humankind would lose its substance.
In promoting discussions about fundamental issues of universal concern, such as world peace, democracy, freedom, human rights, etc., universal dialogue serves to fulfil still greater human concerns. The dialogue in the continuous evolution of the humanity has now accumulated enough light, and is in the state in which it can intensify the universal evolution itself. Even more: the universal evolution would degenerate itself if it is not complemented by universal dialogue.
All humans are alike as regard their anatomy, physiology, and their feelings. They also evolve in the same way. There are enormous cultural, linguistic morphological diversities, but despite them the human race is one. Education has created substantial uniformity amongst human beings, at least uniformity in lifestyles; the Westernization of entire humanity has been a way of life throughout the world.
The uniqueness of the human person is perhaps the most distinctive attribute of the universal evolution conferred on the human species. Everyone has in his/ her mind a distinctive seed of thinking, something distinctively articulating and remarkably different from all virtues put together. Everyone needs to identify, recognize, develop and articulate this uniqueness in himself/ herself.
One can learn through one’s interactions with others through attending classes in a university, through books and media. The common aspect of intellect enables one to learn. But only the attribute of uniqueness within oneself can help to invent, unfold, reinvent, construct new worlds, and map the universe in its entirety. Human uniqueness should be a basis of his/ her participation in universal dialogue.
Universal attributes of human beings find recognition and stand for solidarity when they are expressed through universal dialogue. Universal attributes of human beings that should be reflected through dialogue are: altruism, justice, consciousness, spirituality, wisdom, ethics, responsibility, and reasoning. The above-mentioned attributes of human beings determine the following conditions of dialogue:
Dialogue must promote the discussion which, in turn, must promote altruism amongst human beings. Altruism stimulates a transverse relationship amongst the members of a society, which is necessary to promote social and cultural cohesion and, ultimately, a unity amongst people of the world.
Dialogue must stimulate our consciousness, which, in turn, would help us to understand more deeply universal, social, cultural and ecological phenomena.
Universal evolution needs our alliance in taking care of all life in the living biosphere. Being Homo sapiens we also have a duty to promote the processes of intellectualization. The universal dialogue would clearly perform this duty by promoting, stimulating and inspiring discussion. In addition, loving all life forms and fellow beings and enhancing beauty in every part of life expressed through dialogue, would give strength to the very substance of life.
Reasoning imparts power to thoughts. Promoting reasoning must be an essential objective of every dialogical discussion. The thought empowered by reasoning gives an everlasting impact. Various dimensions of reasoning would help societies to become more mature in executing peace-promoting actions. Promoting peace is a vital part of our responsibility, and universal dialogue would contribute to this great duty.
Dialogue should be inspired, subdued and guided by ethics. Ethics is inevitable in healing the wounds of the Earth and in reviving our dying planet. Ethics is necessary in helping to avert all environmental, socio-economic and cultural crises.
Dialogue strengthened by wisdom promotes the discussions which rise humanity to a higher level of anthropogenic and socio-cultural evolution. Wisdom is evolution’s greatest gift to humanity, and must be essentially expressed through dialogue. Wisdom-absorbing discussions enlighten the humanity.
Spirituality-stimulating discussions help to open new windows towards divinize the world. We find ourselves at very high level of thinking. We genuinely contribute to philosophize the world.
The feeling of “justice for all” must emanate from dialogical discussions. Dialogue needs to be just for all—for different societies, for all cultures, for the nature, for the planet Earth, and for the universe. “Justice for all” must be reflected as well as nurtured in all dialogical discussions.
