How many jobs did Congress provide, asks BJP

Bhasin challenges Cong to compare employment data in public

Reacting to the protests staged by the Congress in different parts of the State on Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party has opined that this act was a result of the frustration being experienced by Congress leaders out of power. The BJP further said that under chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the state government is undertaking a campaign on a large scale to facilitate employment. On the other hand, the situation of unemployment was worse during the term of the Congress government.

The BJP State vice president Devendra Bhasin said that the Congress slogan ‘give jobs or abdicate power’ is laughable because instead of being sensitive towards the youths, the Congress is worried about its political future and political employment. The Congress seems to have forgotten that about one and a half year is left for the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections and the situation is such that the BJP will secure a majority in the next elections too.

Bhasin said that the State government is building an atmosphere for employment in various sectors while also undertaking a campaign to facilitate employment. He challenged the Congress to make public documents related to employment facilitated during the term of the Congress government in Uttarakhand. The BJP will also present the complete employment related figures for its three and a half years in office so far, which will clear the picture, he said. “In these three and a half years, the Covid-19 pandemic has appeared as a major challenge for the government. Despite this, the government is putting all its power in the work. We have no objection to the Congress leaders staging demonstrations but they should not break the rules in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and play with the life of the public,” said the BJP State vice president.
