Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the provision of medical services by the Himalayan Hospital in district hospital at Bauradi, community health centres at Beleshwar and Devprayag. With this, in the first stage of health system development project, the facilitation of medical services by Himalayan Hospital, Jolly Grant in Tehri district has begun from Friday.
Speaking on the occasion Rawat said that the services being provided in Tehri cluster under the project will be facilitated for the whole district. While doctors of the Himalayan Hospital will be posted at the district hospital in Buaradi and community health centres at Beleshwar and Devprayag, three mobile clinics will also be operated to provide medical services to citizens in the region.
He said, “Providing better medical facilities to people of Uttarakhand is our priority. The services of private hospitals are also being taken for this. Schemes have also been made for enhancing medical facilities in mountainous regions. Telemedicine, teleradiology and establishment of ICU in district hospitals will be helpful for this.”
Rawat further said that the State government plans to operate medical services in Pauri district like in the Tehri cluster for which the process has been started. Also, work will be facilitated under public private partnership to strengthen the joint hospital at Ramnagar, community health centres at Bhikiyasain and Beeronkhal.
The Health secretary Nitesh Jha informed that under the project being executed in PPP mode, beneficiaries of the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana will be provided free treatment.
At the district hospital, 11 specialist doctors of Himalayan hospital, CT scan, ultrasound, x-ray and ECG among other facilities will be available.
The three mobile clinics to be operated under the project will tour various areas of the district on the guidance of the chief medical officer and provide primary treatment and mother-child health related services.
One chief medical superintendent level officer of the state government will have administrative control of district hospital while the State Government medical officers will have administrative control of community health centres. Swami Ram Himalayan Hospital and Medical College vice chancellor Vijay Dhasmana was also present on the occasion.
