In his FB post BJP leader takes RaGa to task for fleeing the battleground, sarcastically suggests that Rawat, a veteran of nine losses should be made president.
In a suggestion which has caught the eyes of those interested in politics of the state, senior BJP leader and former chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari has said that Congress general secretary Harish Rawat should be made Congress president. Laced with sarcasm, a Facebook post of the veteran BJP leader has become talking point among the political circles here.
In his unique style, Koshyari while addressing Congress president Rahul Gandhi said, “You have made an announcement to leave the position of Congress president. Congratulation! You have got so scared from the 303 ‘three naught three’ of Modi- Shah that you have decided to flee from the battle field.’’ He then went on to suggest that he should appoint Harish Rawat in his place, who despite losing nine elections never says quit and starts preparing for next election. Equating Harish Rawat with a mountain which remains undaunted, the BJP leader opined that Harish Rawat in his capacity as party president would at least not allow the Congress spokespersons to remain away from TV debates.
Political pundits opine that by giving suggestion to Rahul Gandhi to appoint Harish Rawat as party president, who has lost nine elections, Koshyari has tried to rub salt on the wounds of Congress party which is still nursing from the crushing defeat it received in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
The new FB post of Koshyari suggests that there is no love lost between him and Harish Rawat. It is pertinent to mention here that in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections, entertaining exchanges between these two heavyweight leaders had enlivened the electoral scene.
In the campaign, Koshyari targeted Rawat by calling himHaarda (loser) referring to string of losses Rawat has to his credit. Not to be left behind, Rawat returned the favour by referring Koshyari as an‘ Ujyadu Buld’ which in local language means a bull who has the habit of entering farms and destroying crops of farmers. Koshyari then retaliated by calling Rawat as ‘ Yakulu Banar’ (lone monkey) after which Rawat returned the favour by calling Koshyari as ‘Bheega Ghughuta’ (a wet dove) which cannot fly.
However the interesting battle between the two became less acidic after the elections in which Harish Rawat lost from Nainital- Udham Singh Nagar constituency by a huge margin. Recently Koshyari had compared Harish Rawat with a fox for his sharp brain and now though sarcastically he has recommended the name of Harish Rawat for Congress president.
