Haldwani ISBT survey report sent to Centre, approval awaited
Hope has been rekindled for construction of the Inter State Bus Terminus at Haldwani after special secretary to the chief minister and chief conservator of forests, wester circle, Parag Madhukar Dhakate visited the proposed site for ISBT along with other officials concerned. The ISBT is proposed to be constructed at Haldwani on 10 hectare land near the Uttarakhand Open University. According to officials, the ISBT in Haldwani will also include a workshop, a hospital and a guest house along with various other facilities. Dhakate informed that the survey for this project has been completed and the report has been sent online to the Government of India. Construction of this facility will begin after the necessary approval is received from the Centre, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that after being recently appointed to the post of special secretary to the CM, this was Dhakate’s first visit to the site proposed for construction of the ISBT in Haldwani. He was accompanied by the Terai east divisional forest officer (DFO) Nitishmani Tripathi, Terai central DFO Abhilasha Singh, Haldwani DFO Kundan Kumar and regional transport officer Rajiv Mehra.
