Guv stresses on observing precautions against Covid

To encourage citizens to wear mask in public and observe social distancing for protection from Covid-19, the governor Baby Rani Maurya distributed masks and sanitisers at various places in the city on Wednesday. The governor distributed masks, soaps and sanitisers to the needy on Rajpur Road, Survey Chowk and Clock Tower. This event was organised by the Uttarakhand Red Cross Society.

On the occasion, the governor enquired about the daily difficulties faced by the people, the condition of their livelihood and employment, and personal problems. She also requested the people to wear masks in public and frequently wash their hands.

In an informal interaction with media persons Maurya stressed on the importance of awareness on wearing masks and observing social distancing. The public will have to work together with the government and local administration in the campaign against Covid-19. Near the Clock Tower, the governor also appealed to the traders and business enterprises to discharge their social responsibilities and help as many poor people as possible. Encountering those who are involved in social work, she gave them a larger number of masks, soaps and sanitisers, asking them to distribute the same among the poor people. The governor further said that in these difficult circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, all people should come forward to help their subordinate workers and the people in need. The Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ was also present on the occasion.
