Ram’s consort is believed to have taken Bhu-Samadhi here.
Even as the way for building a temple of lord Ram in Ayodhya has been cleared, a grand temple of his consort, goddess Sita will be built at Falswadi where she is believed to have taken Bhu- Samadhi. The State government has started work on Sita Mata circuit will prove to be a milestone in the development of Pauri district. With its completion, every person in the world with faith in lord Ram and Sita would definitely want to visit Falswadi village, said chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while speaking as the chief guest at the Sharadotsav in Pauri on Monday.
Rawat said that for constructing a grand temple of the goddess in Falswadi, every home in each village of the region should donate a stone, a fistful of soil and Rs 11 each. He said that he will soon undertake a Yatra from Devprayag for this purpose. Members of the religious fraternity have also expressed their desire to be part of this initiative.
The CM said that the Pauri Sharadotsav should be organised on a larger scale. He also directed the district magistrate to send a proposal for building parking facility in Pauri. Compensation for land has been paid to the people for the Lwali lake and work on this project will start soon. He further said that money has been sanctioned for NCC academy and work on it will be started in the near future. Once the NCC academy is opened, about 36,000 students will arrive here annually. While stressing on the need to encourage girls to progress further, he also stressed on the need for youth to stay away from the proclivity for substance abuse. Referring to the prime minister Narendra Modi exhorting the citizens to shun single-use plastic, Rawat said that the people are cooperating in this endeavour.
The State minister for High Education, Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Mukesh Singh Koli, district Panchayat chairperson Shanti Devi, municipality chairman Yashpal Benam and others were also present on the occasion. Earlier, the CM inaugurated a multi-purpose hall, guest house and staff quarters constructed by the Pauri municipality.
