Office of rural development and migration commission has migrated
While blaming the BJP government for neglecting the development of Garhwal division, the state Congress vice- president Surya Kant Dhasmana has alleged that about a dozen offices have migrated from Pauri to places like Dehradun over the past two years.
In a letter written to the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, he said that though the BJP government leaves no chance to claim that it is working sincerely to stop migration from the hills, the fact remains that the much-hyped rural development and migration commission- set up to stop migration- has itself migrated and shifted base on Shastradhara Road in Dehradun.
The senior state Congress leader further said that the divisional office of rural development department, office of technical education, adventure tourism, census and statistical department, deputy registrar cooperative, agriculture directorate and office of hill industries department have been shifted out of Pauri. In his letter, Dhasmana further said that Pauri is divisional headquarter having offices of divisional commissioner and deputy inspector general ( DIG) of police. But it is a matter of concern that divisional commissioner and DIG police sit rarely in their offices at Pauri, he alleged.
Taking a dig at the CM, he said that being a resident of Pauri district himself, he is aware of the problem of the area and issue of migration and he is thus expected to take prompt measures to bring the migrated offices back to Pauri. The Congress leader threatened that the Congress would be forced to launch an agitation to save Pauri if the neglect continues. Read more posts…
