First-time voters in the provisional state capital Dehradun expressed enthusiasm about voting on Thursday. In the spirit of ‘#Travel to Vote’ and ‘#One Leave for Vote’ many first time voters traveled to their hometowns for casting their votes.
An employee in a local shop near Rajpur, Kabool Singh said, ‘I work in Dehradun while my native place is Dhanaulti. I am going back to my home for casting my vote. It is important for every voter to reach their hometown and cast their vote as every vote counts.’’
Another first-time voter Rahul Kumar said, “I feel that voting is not just a power but it is also our responsibility. We cannot change everyone’s opinion but I feel that not only youth but every citizen of our country should take part in election. This will provide good governance to our country.’’
Another first time voter, Devansh Mittal said, “I voted for the first time in this election and I was very excited about it. I think it is our role to choose the best candidate as per our choice. I think the younger generation is active in politics and every one researches the candidate before casting vote.’’
Another young voter, Shubham Wasan said, “Every election is important but this was important in so many aspects also as it is Lok Sabha election. A single vote can create a lot of difference as at times a candidate can win or lose by a single vote. Keeping the importance in consideration no one should take polling day simply as a holiday but should take it as a day to vote.’’
