A total of 18000 posts are vacant in different departments of state government. This information was provided to Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat during a meeting of the officials of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Subordinate Service Selection Commission and officials of state government at secretariat on Wednesday. In the meeting, CM directed the service commissions to expedite the process of recruitment on vacant posts.
On the occasion the CM also reviewed the status of vacant posts in different departments and the steps taken to fill them. In the meeting the CM said that the departments should send clear and error free recruitment requisitions to the commissions and the process of recruitment should be transparent. He suggested that a day in every month should be earmarked for Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the employees. On a stern note he said that action would be initiated against the officers who are not updating the Annual Confidential Reports (ACR) of the employees under them on time. Emphasising on transparency in recruitment process, he said that lack of clarity results in litigations which delays the recruitment process. Rawat directed the senior officials that they should give top priority for making necessary changes in the recruitment requisition for including 10 percent reservation for economically weaker sections of upper castes and send these requisitions to commission concerned.
The chairman Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Major General (Retd) Anand Singh Rawat said the commission has done 2511 recruitments from April 1, 2017 till date. The commission has also done 876 DPCs during this span of time. He informed that recruitment process for 852 posts and 3080 DPC is currently in progress.
The Chairman of Subordinate Service Selection Commission, S Raju said that a total of 63 examinations were conducted by commission from 2017 and it has sent recommendation on recruitment of 3109 positions. He further informed that 3177 posts have been earmarked to be filled by the commission. Raju said that for the convenience of applicants, the commission has made arrangements for online applications. The meeting was also attended by the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Radha Raturi, ACS Om Prakash, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Nitesh Jha, Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh, Harbans Singh Chug and Sushil Kumar.
