Employee unions resent non-payment of one day’s salary
The joint federation of different employee unions is upping its ante on the issue of non-payment of one day’s salary of January 31 to the employees who had participated in one day mass leave programme on the call given by Uttarakhand Adhikari Karmchari Shikshak Samanvay Samiti (UAKSSS), the joint federation of different employee unions.
On Friday, a delegation of the coordination committee met the additional chief secretary ( ACS) personnel, Radha Raturi at her office and informed her that the one day’s salary of the employees has not been released yet.
The spokesperson of the committee Arun Pandey said that the ACS had been told by the delegation that following the Pulwama incident, UAKSSS had suspended its agitation. Raturi was reminded of the finance minister Prakash Pant and herself having given assurance to the employees that salary would not be deducted. “But the employees are yet to receive the salary of one day,” he said and added that Raturi had assured that positive action would be taken on their demand.
In support of their ten- point demand, UAKSSS had given a call for mass leave on January 31 which was successful.
Later, the State Government had accepted the demand of increasing the House Rent Allowance (HRA), but other demands of employees remained unfulfilled. However, taking a tough stance, the State Government had imposed a rule of no work no pay on and decided to deduct one day’s salary of the agitating employees.
