Eid Ul- Adha
The festival is meant to commemorate the test Prophet Ibrahim had gone through. It is said that Ibrahim was commanded by Allah in his dreams to sacrifice his son Ismail. Ibrahim informed the Allah’s wish to Ismail who readily agreed to put down his life. Ibrahim took his son to the hillock of Meena and offered the sacrifice of his son to Allah. However a miracle happened and Ismail remained safe while a ram had died in his place. It is said that the almighty was happy with his devotee successfully passing through the test. The day is celebrated as Eid Ul Adha to commemorate the sacrifice of Ibrahim.
