Keeping in view the highly diverse nature of the engineering sector it has been decided to make concentrated efforts to reach out to all segments of the engineering entrepreneurs. To achieve this objective EEPC India intends to establish chapters in the form of working groups to function under a regional committee within the region, which shall be formed in cities, towns, states where there is no presence of EEPC India. As part of these efforts, Industries principal secretary Manisha Panwar inaugurated the EEPC India Dehradun chapter here on Friday.
National chairman of EEPC India, Ravi Sehgal, in the presence of director general L Fanai and Industries director Sudhir Nautiyal along with EEPC India director Rakesh Suraj appointed Pankaj Gupta as the Dehradun chapter convener while PK Dhawan was appointed the deputy chapter convener. About 10 manufacturers and industry representatives were also appointed as Dehradun chapter committee members.
According to the officials, the main objective of the chapter would be membership growth and also mobilising active participation of such chapter members in the various activities of EEPC India including promotional events, seminars, policy advocacy, technology centre and raising voice of the industry at the appropriate forum. The chapter in Dehradun is expected to strengthen the coordination between EEPC India and industry as well as the departments concerned in Uttarakhand.
