Union minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani stressed on content creation stating that the system should be as progressive as the changes taking place across the world in content creation. A content creation working group should be established in the state. The history and culture of the state should be documented and digitalised, said the minister. She was speaking at the film conclave held in Musoorie as part of the State foundation week celebrations on Friday.
Irani said that focus should be laid on content creation along with other facilities for film shooting. A content creation group should be formed and work in coordination with production facilitation in the state. This working group will also work to strengthen the linguistic strength. Instead of focusing only on mainstream commercial Hindi cinema, focus should be on multi-lingual content creation. She further stressed on the need to prepare for the digital medium along with film and television, adding that that the digital medium will be the strongest in the future. Focusing on regional languages, a bridge should be formed between big producers and local content creators. Stating that the history and culture of Uttarakhand is rich, Irani said that it should be documented and digitalised to introduce it to the world.
Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state government will implement experts’ recommendations for encouraging film and television serial shooting in the state. Incorporating the suggestions received during the investors summit last year, the state drafted its film policy and its positive results are also being seen. A large number of films and television serials have been shot here and various popular south India film personalities have also visited the state.
