The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) has said that the Governor of Uttarakhand should cancel the membership of Pranav Singh Champion from Uttarakhand assembly and a case of sedition should be slapped on him.
A delegation of the UKD met the Director General (DG) of police Anil Kumar Raturi on Friday and handed over a memorandum addressed to the Governor of Uttarakhand.
Later the district president of the party, Sunil Dhyani said, “Our state has a history of martyrs and after a long struggle, the state was created.
But today the insults of these struggles and martyrdoms are visible in the viral video featuring Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh Champion .
Our party demands that the MLA should be removed from his position and necessary actions should be taken against him.” The party also expressed its resentment on lifting up the ban from the sale and purchase of land in Gairsain and arrest of activists who are staging a non-violent struggle for making Gairsain the permanent capital of Uttarakhand.“Rather than making Gairsain state capital, 37 activists who are on an peaceful agitation were caught and put in jails which is clear indication of murder of democracy.
In the year 2012, the Government stopped the sale of land in 27 villages in the Patwari areas of Mehalchori, Panchli, and Adibadri. The present government has now lifted the restriction on the sale of the land.
The intention is clear that the land mafias are being given free run. It will surly cause huge losses to the mountains,” Dhyani said.
The party representatives further urged that necessary steps should be taken to fulfil the demands failing which the party would be forced to start an agitation. The delegation included B D Raturi, Latafat Hussain, Pankaj Vyas, Bahadur Singh Rawat and others.
