CS chairs review meeting on National Games preparations
Chaired by the chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, a meeting to review the preparations for the 38th National Games slated in Uttarakhand was held at the secretariat on Thursday during which the CS instructed the infrastructural facilities being prepared by Uttarakhand government being inspected by different sports associations. He further stressed while addressing the officers concerned that the infrastructural facilities should be at par with the standards meant to be maintained for hosting National Games.
Chief secretary further said that there would be need to hire specialist agencies for work to be undertaken in different sectors. Further, he instructed the sports officers of the state to visit Kerala and Goa where National Games are being held to learn about the infrastructural facilities being provided there.
Singh said that the facilities being provided by these states and the experiences from participating in these games would help Uttarakhand prepare for the National Games in a better manner. “We must learn things from them and use our knowledge to ensure that the National Games to be held in Uttarakhand is smooth and glitch free,” he said while addressing the review meeting.
