Covid-19 turns fatal; 14 deaths in U’khand on Wednesday
Death toll mounts to 178, Health dept reports 264 fresh cases on Wednesday
The contagion of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is turning more and more fatal in Uttarakhand. On Wednesday, the authorities reported 14 deaths from the disease which is the highest single day toll of the dreaded disease in the state. With these mortalities, the death toll of the disease in the state has now mounted to 178. On Wednesday the authorities reported 264 fresh cases of Covid-19 which increased the tally of the disease to 13225. The authorities discharged 408 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state. A total of 9132 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage for Covid-19 in the state is now at 69.05 percent and the doubling rate in the state is 31.11 days.
The authorities reported seven deaths from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Wednesday. Here five males ( 54 year, three 45 year old men, a 38 year old) and two females ( 70 and 58 years) died. Similarly six deaths ( 85 year old male, 60 year old female, 53 year old female, 52 year old male, 30 year old male and a two month old child) were reported dead in Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani. In Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital a 55 year old male was reported dead on the day.
The authorities reported 118 fresh Covid-19 cases in Dehradun on Wednesday. Similarly 60 patients surfaced in Nainital, 39 in Haridwar, 19 in Chamoli, 13 in Pauri Garhwal, seven in Udham Singh Nagar, three each in Champawat and Tehri and one each in Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi were reported on the day.
Out of the 408 patients discharged from hospitals after recovery on Wednesday, 175 are from Haridwar, 131 from Uttarkashi, 29 from Nainital, 23 from Tehri, 20 from Udham Singh Nagar, 13 from Chamoli and two each are from Champawat and Pauri districts.
The state now has 3865 active patients of the disease with Haridwar at top of the table of active cases with 995 cases. Udham Singh Nagar is at second place with 844 active cases of the disease. Dehradun has 677 and Nainital 597 active patients of the disease. Tehri has 174, Uttarkashi 137, Champawat 103, Pauri 82, Chamoli 81, Rudraprayag 61, Pithoragarh 42, Almora 41 and Bageshwar 31 active cases of the disease.
