45 patients reported, 21 discharged on Saturday. The state now has 522 active patients of the disease.
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand climbed to 3093 on Saturday as the state health department reported 45 new cases of the disease on the day. The authorities discharged 21 patients of the disease after their recovery from different parts of the hospitals which increased the tally of recovered patients 2502. The state continues to show good recovery from the disease as the recovery rate was at 80.89 percent on Saturday. The recovery rate of Uttarakhand is among the best in India and much above the 60 percent recovery rate of the country. Interestingly the mountainous district of Tehri which now has only three active patients has a recovery rate of 99 percent. Here 416 patients out of 421 detected so far have recovered fully from Covid-19.
On Saturday the health department reported 17 patients of the disease from Udham Singh Nagar district which has recently shown a spurt in the number of the patients. Eight patients were reported from Dehradun district which included one health care worker having travel history from Delhi. From Bageshwar six patients were reported while five patients surfaced in Uttarkashi district. Nainital reported four new patients while two patients were reported in Almora district. One patient each was reported from Haridwar, Pauri and Tehri district on the day.
The authorities discharged 19 patients from hospitals in Pauri district after their complete recovery from the disease. One patient each was discharged from Almora and Tehri district on the day.
The state now has 522 active patients of the disease. Nainital with 181 cases has the highest number of active patients while provisional state capital Dehradun has 120 active patients. Udham Singh Nagar has 80, Haridwar 30, Almora 25, Uttarkashi 20, Bageshwar 17, Pauri 15, Chamoli 11 and Champawat nine active cases of the disease. Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag have six and five active patients of the disease respectively. Showing a remarkable recovery rate in recent days Tehri district with only three active cases is at bottom of table of active cases.
The state now has 92 hot spots or containment zones. Haridwar district has 68 such zones while Dehradun now has nine containment zones. Tehri has five, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi four each and Nainital two containment zones.
