Tally mounts to 14,566; three deaths and 483 fresh cases of the disease reported on Saturday
The northward run of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) contagion is continuing relentlessly in Uttarakhand. The state health department reported three deaths and 483 fresh cases of the disease on Saturday which took the tally of the disease to 14566 on Saturday. So far 195 patients of Covid-19 have died in the state. On the day 345 patients of the disease were discharged from different hospitals after their recovery from the disease. In the state a total of 10021 patients have recovered so far from the disease and the recovery percentage in Uttarakhand is at 68.80. The doubling rate of the disease in the state is at 26.67 days. On a worrying note, the infection rate- which represents the number of samples tested positive out of total tested- has climbed to 5.18 percent.
Two patients (59 year old female and a 38 year old male) were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on the day. Similarly a 55 year old female died at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani.
The authorities reported 133 fresh cases of Covid-19 in Haridwar district on Saturday while 97 patients came up in Nainital district. Similarly 82 patients were reported in Dehradun, 81 in Udham Singh Nagar, 41 in Uttarkashi, 19 in Almora and 12 in Rudraprayag were reported positive for the disease. Five patients in Pithoragarh, four in Chamoli, three each in Pauri and Tehri, two in Bageshwar and one patient was reported in Champawat district on the day.
Out of 345 patients discharged on Saturday, 120 are from Haridwar district, 94 from Dehradun, 42 Nainital, 36 Pithoragarh, 17 from Chamoli, 14 Champawat, 10 Udham Singh Nagar, five from Almora and four from Pauri districts. One patient each was discharged in Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi district.
The state now has 4296 active patients of the disease. On Saturday Udham Singh Nagar displaced Haridwar district from top position in the table of active patients. Udham Singh Nagar now has 1051 active cases while Haridwar has 995 active cases. Dehradun with 775 active patients is in third spot followed by Nainital district which has 698 active patients of Covid-19. Uttarkashi has 217, Tehri 159, Pauri 81, Chamoli 79, Champawat 74, Rudraprayag 65 and Almora 63 active cases of the disease. With 22 active patients, Bageshwar district is at the bottom of the tally of active cases of the disease.
