146 patients, three deaths reported on Sunday
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand increased to 7593 on Sunday with the state health department reporting 146 patients of the disease. Three patients of the disease were reported dead on the day by the authorities. A total of 86 patients of Covid-19 have so far lost their lives in Uttarakhand. In the state 107 patients were discharged from different hospitals after their recovery on Sunday. A total of 437 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery rate is now at 58.44 percent.
In Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital one 68 year male and a 44 year male were reported dead on Sunday. Similarly a 77 year old female was reported dead in Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani.
The health department reported 51 patients in Dehradun, 33 in Nainital, 28 in Haridwar, 12 in Uttarkashi, 10 in Udham Singh Nagar, five in Chamoli, two each in Pauri, Rudraprayag and Tehri districts and one in Almora district on Sunday.
On the day 53 patients were discharged in Haridwar, 44 in Dehradun, Nine in Uttarkashi and one in Pithoragarh district after recovery from Covid-19.
The state now has more than 3000 ( 3032) active patients of the disease with Haridwar district leading the table with 901 active cases followed by Udham Singh Nagar district which has 818 active cases. Nainital is in third position with 541 active cases while Dehradun now 399 such patients of Covid 19. Uttarkashi has 73, Pithoragarh 72, Almora 57, Champawat 51, Bageshwar 38, Tehri 28, Pauri 27, Chamoli 15 and Rudraprayag 12 active cases each of Covid-19.
Highest Covid-19 deaths in 20th week
The sting of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is getting deadlier in Uttarakhand. In the week ending July 1, 20 deaths were reported in the state which is the maximum number of deaths in a week in the state so far. The death toll from the disease has reached 80 ( till 8 pm on Saturday) in the state. A total of 30804 tests were conducted during the week which incidentally is maximum tests conducted in a week so far.
The data of the Social Development for Communities Foundation show that a total of 1496 cases were reported during July 26 and August 1 which was the 20th week since the first case of Covid-19 was reported in the state on March 15. In the week 2996 active cases were reported which is also the highest active cases in a week in the state. The 20th week also saw a record recovery of 835 patients.
