389 new patients, nine deaths reported on Monday. Patient count reaches 10021; 6301 recovered so far.
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand crossed the ten thousand figure mark on Monday. The health department reported 389 patients of the disease on the day which increased the tally of the disease to 10021. Death of nine patients of the disease was also reported on the day which increased the death toll to 134. The authorities discharged 167 patients from different hospitals after their recovery on the day. A total of 6301 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery rate now stands at 62.88 percent.
Six patients ( 87 year old male, 68 year old male, two 58 year old males, 38 year old female and a 34 year old female) were reported dead in Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani on the day. Two patients (75 year old male and a 30 year old female) were reported dead at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh. A 55 year old male expired at Mahant Indiresh Hospital on the day.
In Haridwar a staggering 178 new patients were reported on Monday. Similarly 110 patients surfaced in Udham Singh Nagar, 41 in Dehradun, 25 in Nainital, seven in Tehri, six each in Almora and Chamoli, three in Champawat and two in Uttarkashi were reported on Monday. The authorities discharged 59 patients in Haridwar, 29 in Nainital, 19 each in Dehradun and Bageshwar, 12 in Pauri, 10 in Champawat, eight in Tehri, six in Udham Singh Nagar and five in Almora district on the day.
The state now has 3547 active patients of the disease with Udham Singh Nagar maintaining its top position in the table of active cases with 1037 cases followed closely by Haridwar district which has 1014 active cases. Nainital is in third position with 572 active cases while Dehradun is in fourth position with 354 active patients of Covid 19. Uttarkashi has 139, Pithoragarh 112 Tehri 75, Pauri 62, Champawat 60, Almora 34, Bageshwar 32, Chamoli 31 and Rudraprayag 25 active cases of Covid-19.
The surge of patients has forced the administration to set up 479 containment zones to prevent the spread of the disease. In Haridwar district alone 399 containment zones have been set up. Udham Singh Nagar district has 37, Nainital 27, Dehradun seven, Champawat four, Tehri and Uttarkashi two each and Bageshwar one containment zones.
