264 new cases, three deaths reported on Saturday
The forward march of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand continued with the state health department reporting three deaths and 264 new cases of the disease on Saturday. The state now has a total of 7447 cases and 83 deaths from the disease. On the day 162 patients of the disease were discharged from different hospitals of the day. A total of 4330 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the state now has a recovery rate of 58.14 percent. The health department has collected 172477 swab samples of suspected patients and out of the total samples tested 4.62 percent were found positive for Covid-19.
A 42 year old male was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Saturday while a 42 year male also succumbed at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital in Dehradun. A 48 year male was reported dead at Sushila Tiwari Government hospital Haldwani. Incidentally deaths of all three patients had occurred on August 31 but were reported by the health department on Saturday.
The authorities reported 95 patients in Nainital on Saturday. Similarly 42 patients in Haridwar, 31 in Bageshwar, 30 in Udham Singh Nagar, 27 in Dehradun, 17 in Uttarkashi, seven in Pithoragarh, four each in Almora and Champawat, two in Tehri and one in Rudraprayag district were reported on the day.
On Saturday 53 patients recovered in Dehradun while 34 in Almora, 33 in Udham Singh Nagar, 16 in Uttarkashi, seven each in Pithoragarh and Haridwar, five each in Pauri and Nainital and two in Champawat district recovered from the disease.
The state now has 2996 active patients of the disease with Haridwar district leading the table with 926 active cases followed by Udham Singh Nagar district which has 809 active cases. Nainital is in third position with 508 active cases while Dehradun now 394 such patients of Covid 19. Pithoragarh has 73 active patients, Uttarkashi 70, Almora 56, Champawat 51, Bageshwar 38, Tehri 26, Pauri 25 while Chamoli and Rudraprayag have 10 active cases each of Covid-19.
