Workers annoyed at Yoga guru’s statement on Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi
In protest against recent utterances of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former President Rahul Gandhi, Congress workers here submitted a written complaint at Kotwali police station.
The Congress workers demanded that the police should register a FIR against the Yoga guru on the issue.
The Congress party workers led by the Mahanagar Congress President Lal Chand Sharma arrived at the Kotwali police station and submitted the complaint.
The spokesperson of the Mahanagar Congress, Pratima Singh submitted the documents in support of the charge on the Ramdev.
In the complaint the Congress party said that Baba Ramdev in his speech on September 24 had made baseless statement about Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. They said that the statement of Ramdev that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi too would have to go to the jail in the same manner in which former Finance and Home Minister P Chidambaram has gone to jail has maligned the image of Congress President and former Congress President.
The statement also reflects that Baba Ramdev gives scant respect to the law of the land, complaint said.
The Congress workers demanded that cases under relevant sections of Indian law should be registered against Yoga Guru Ramdev.
Congress district president Sanjay Kishore, PCC Member Rajesh Sharma, Mahanagar spokesperson Pratima Singh, Councillors Neenu Sehgal, Arjun Sonekar, Devendra Pal, Ramesh Kumar Mangu, President of women wing Kamlesh Raman and others were present on the occasion.
