Two day Workshop on Economic and Social Transformation through GPDP in Himalayan states’ starts in Parmarth Niketan at Rishikesh on Thursday.
The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat would inaugurate a two day ‘Workshop on Economic and Social Transformation through GPDP in Himalayan states’ in Parmarth Niketan at Rishikesh on Thursday. The workshop is being organised under joint aegis of the Panchayati Raj department of Uttarakhand, Union ministry of rural development and National institute of Rural development and Panchayati Raj. Apart from CM, the inaugural session would be addressed by the Panchayati Raj Minister Arvind Pandey, additional secretary government of India Sanjay Singh and Director Panchayati Raj Uttarakhand, H C Semwal.
On the first day, three technical sessions would be held. The first session titled ‘People’s plan campaign for preparation of GPDP’ would be chaired by Union additional secretary, Sanjay Singh. In the second technical session discussion on achieving comprehensive GPDP through people’s plan campaign in Himalayan states would be held. In the third technical session deliberations on convergence of schemes and programmes with GPDP would be held.
On second and culminating day, four technical sessions would be organised. The titles of these sessions are ‘ monitoring of people’s plan campaign’, ‘ Evidence based planning using mission Antyodaya survey reports’, ‘ Economic development and social transformation’ and group discussion- issues in preparation of comprehensive GPDP in Himalayan states’.
