Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat reiterated that mitigating migration from mountains, providing self-employment opportunities to youth and economic empowerment of women are priorities of the State Government. For this, Pirul (dry pine needles) and solar policies have been drafted. Better execution of these policies is in the interests of the state.
Reviewing the implementation of these two policies at the secretariat on Monday, Rawat said that these policies should be implemented effectively. The Pirul policy can be an effective tool in facilitating economic empowerment of women. Its effective implementation can help in mitigating forest fires while also paving the way for self employment for youth in the generation of energy, biogas and other products. He directed that measures be taken to redressal practical difficulties being experienced in this regard. Reviewing implementation of the solar policy, the CM called it important for fulfilling the energy requirements of the state.
Chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary Om Prakash, principal secretaries Manisha Panwar, Anand Bardhan, secretaries Amit Singh Negi, Radhika Jha and other officials were also present in the meeting.
