CM lays foundation stone of the country’s 22nd central law university at Ranipokhri
‘It will boost local economy, provide jobs to youngsters’
Laying the foundation stone of the country’s 22nd central law university at Ranipokhri near here on Saturday, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that it is another instance of the Prime Minister going all-out to help the state in every ream of developmental activity. He said that the university would be built up at an estimated cost of Rs 26 crore. “Once it comes up it would turn out to be a premier facility of higher education in the state. Besides, it would provide employment opportunities to the locals, particularly to the youths. Our youngsters would be employed in it. It would give a boost to the local economy,” he said.
CM further said that Uttarakhand is already endowed with esteemed institutions like IIM, IIT and AIIMS. The gift of the central university added to the list would help the state emerge as a thriving hub of higher education in time to come, he said. “We are thrilled to think that the talented students from across the country would come to the state for higher education in different fields,” he added.
Aside from laying the foundation stone of the law university project, the CM also laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs five crore and inaugurated projects worth Rs 68 crore on the day.
