In sync with digital India drive, a system of E-gate pass in Uttarakhand secretariat and Vidhan Sabha started on Wednesday. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the automated E- gate pass system in a programme held at State secretariat on the day.
Under the new system which will operate along with the old system of making gate passes, E-passes of guests, employees and vehicles can be issued from any convenient time and place. In the E-gate pass system, the identity of visiting guest would be easily known while there would be more accuracy, clarity and MIS recording of the data.
The Director of Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) Amit Sinha said that for E- pass system, the ITDA has developed unique software. Elaborating on the system, he said that the interested visitors can log on to eGatepass-uk.in for registration. The application received online would be sent to respective department for acceptance or rejection. On acceptance of the request the applicant would receive a One Time Password (OTP) on his/ her mobile number or Mail id. The print out of the gate pass can be obtained by entering the gate pass.
The visitors can apply for the E gate pass on Whatsapp also. Sinha said that a separate computer has been set up near the entry of secretariat for this system and the security personnel are operating this system. He disclosed that a training session was organised by the ITDA for 92 personal secretaries for E gate pass system was organised recently. The programme was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash and Secretary CM Radhika Jha.
